Being far away from home with a seriously ill or injured child is a time filled with many anxieties for all our families. The high cost of hotel rooms, impossible commutes, sleepless nights in the hospital and lack of emotional support systems take emotional, physical and financial tolls on families already in crisis.

Ronald McDonald House Denver

That is where the Denver Ronald McDonald House comes in --- a temporary "home-away-from-home" for families to find rest, support and time away from the realities of the hospital procedures and routines. A place where they are able to have their needs met so they can focus their energies on their child. A place that encourages sharing and support among families facing similar situations --- a place known as "The House That Love Built."

Families staying at the House must have a child under age 18 who is receiving treatment or hospitalized at a nearby hospital. Families at the House are most commonly receiving treatment for cancer, heart problems, premature newborns, transplants, respiratory problems or trauma.

The Denver House is truly a community effort and labor of love. Although each House is affiliated with an international network of Ronald McDonald Houses worldwide, the Denver House is an independent, non-profit corporation, locally owned and operated by Ronald McDonald House Charities of Denver, Inc. Our House is not a United Way Agency and receives no government funding. We are entirely dependent on donations from the community.

The House is run by a Board of Directors, who are all volunteers --- parents, health professionals, McDonald's representatives, business and civic leaders. Volunteers are dedicated and work at the House daily or on an as-needed basis, providing support, comfort and innumerable hours of time for our families.
